Cemeteries

The oldest of our cemeteries is Melchi Zedek founded in 1879 and holds our oldest grave dating to that year. Most of the cemeteries are clustered along Stillson and Frost Roads in Waterbury. The only cemetery not located in Waterbury is Farband in Morris, Connecticut. You can locate the cemeteries using the map interface below as well as individual plots.
Because the cemeteries were founded by various organizations each one was developed with its own traditions and rituals. The Jewish Cemetery Association of Greater Waterbury is dedicated to maintaining the traditions of each. Below please find the different practices.
